Bruen on Film

Several of Ken Bruen’s novels have been adapted for film and television.

Between the years 2010 and 2013, Ireland’s TV3 produced a series of made-for-TV movies based on the Jack Taylor novels. The series starred Iain Glen as Taylor and was shot on location in Galway, Ireland. Novels adapted include The GuardsThe Magdalen MartyrsThe DramatistPriest, and The Killing of the Tinkers (filmed as Shot Down).

In 2011, his novel Blitz was made into a film starring Jason Statham as Tom Brant and Paddy Considine as his unlikely partner Porter Nash.

In 2010, London Boulevard was adapted for the screen by William Monahan (award-winning author of the The Departed screenplay), who used the film to make his directorial debut. The picture starred Colin Farrell and Keira Knightley, among others.
